Hours after the presidential candidate of Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) O
by Ezekwesili withdrew from the 2019 race, the party has withdrawn its support for her.
Consequently, the party, declared its support for President Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“The Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) is withdrawing support for her presidential| aspiration and endorsing the second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari to take Nigeria to the next level,” the party said in a statement on Thursday, January, 24.
Premium Times reports that the statement was signed by Gani Galadima, its national chairman and running mate of Ezekwesili; Paul Isamade; national secretary; and other officials.
Galadima also endorsed the candidacy of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) announced her decision on Thursday, January 24.
She said her decision was taken following call from Nigerians and those abroad for her to do so. Ezekwesili said she would now focus on a coalition to help defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party.
Meanwhile, Cyber19ja.blogspot.com had also reported that the presidential candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria, Fela Durotoye was planning to step down from the presidential race.
His decision followed a similar move made by Oby Ezekwesili on Thursday, January 24.
